24 Hours Later

Knowing that the pattern for Round 3 would be released yesterday, I prepared three different hanks of yarn as potentials. Until I saw the actual pattern it would be impossible to choose.

Left: Ranco Itata Solid, color 2006; Right: Yarn Pirate Merino Bamboo, Hyacinth; Top: Dream in Color Smooshy, color Dusky Aurora.

The pattern, (Talia's Wings) was released, in the middle of a work day! I knew then that I'd go with the Smooshy, which has turned out to be a delightful surprise. I bought a couple of hanks a while back after hearing so many raves, but the colors left me a bit disappointed. Until I wound this one up, that is. Once re-hankified I saw the colors at play. And fortunately it has not disappointed!

So after braving torrential rains getting in and out of the Farmer's Market (indoor, just braved the parking lots) I finally got home about 6:30. About 7 I was able to finally cast on. And here is where I am, 24 hours later!

I've finished through the short-row heel on sock 1 and past the toe section into row 5 of the foot pattern on sock 2. There seems to be a bit of a question regarding the instructions and the leg section so I figured it was better to start the second sock and wait to hear about the leg.

Yah, and people have already finished. Already! Thank goodness I'm in a slow division. I need to be in the top 12 to make it through to the next round.

Ok, enough chit chat. I have to get back to work!
