Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

Well, they are finally finished. The four pairs of baby slippers are ready to adorn the tiny toes of a special young lady in the Jerusalem area. They need only be wrapped up and make their way to the post office.

As is only fitting for such works of couture, we have a little fashion show before their big send off.

First, we have a lovely pair of booties, which I call Sweet Dreams. Made from the fine sock yarns of Lorna's Laces in the Georgetown colorway, and accented with pearl buttons, Sweet Dreams should prove to be as comfortable as they are cute.

Specs:
Pattern: Saartje's Baby Bootees
Yarn: Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Georgetown
Fibre content: 80% superwash merino, 20% nylon
Needles: 2.75 mm
Additional notions: 4 baby pearl buttons

Next, we have Magic Slippers. These sporty little things will be the "go to" slippers of choice this season. Sassy and fun, they are made from Blue Moon Fibers' Socks that Rock Lightweight in the Chickabiddy colorway. This clever design boasts a seamless finish. And using the EZ sewn bind off I was able to work in a bright, pink flower button with no fears of it falling off. Just because.

Specs:
Magic Slippers by Caroline Dlugy-Hegwer from SockPixie
Yarn: STR lightweight Chickabiddy
Fibre content: 100% superwash merino
Needles: 2.25 mm
Mods: added flower button

Next, we present the chic elegance of the Baby Jane, made from a fabulously soft Cashmerino by Gedifra in a stunning berry color. Accented with a bold, black ankle strap and matching berry buttons, the Baby Jane is smart enough for any event.

Specs:
Pattern: Baby Mary Jane Booties
Size: 6 months
Needle: US 3 / 3.25 mm
Yarn: Gedifra Cashmerino
Fibre content: 55% New Wool, 35% acrylic, 10% cashmere
Colorway: berry
Yarn: Teddy's Wool Merino
Fibre content: 100% superwash
Colorway: black
Additional notions: two buttons

Every couture fashion show must end with the bridal gown. The Petit Chou Slipper rivals any frothy frock on its walk down the runway. A confection unto itself, this little creme puff of shoe is a must have for weddings or upcoming holidays. The decorative stitch, deceptively simple in its execution, gives a lovely latticed look. And adorned with three sweet little roses, their tiny green ribbon leaves peeping through, these shoes are a sure fire hit.

Specs:
Pattern: Petit Chou Slippers by Caroline Dlugy-Hegwer
Needle: US 2 / 2.75 mm
Yarn: Schachenmayr nomotta Micro
Fibre content: 100% acrylic
Colorway: pink 0037; natural 002
Size: 6 months
Additional notions: 3 tiny ribbon roses

And for the final run on the catwalk, a last glimpse at all four models of our fabulous footwear.
