Totally, Truly, Random

How many of our choices are truly random? I may think I am going along willy nilly, but somewhere inside my head there must be a plan. I'm just not that spontaneous. But when I read about this baby blanket on Laughing Purple Goldfish Designs' blog I just had to give it a try. Of course there had to be some newborn worthy of the effort, but more on that soon enough.

Mrs. Goldfish is my favorite crocheter. She only uses recycled materials, she is clever, creative and fun to read. I love the idea of a cotton blankie that will get softer with every washing. I love the the randomness of color and stitch, or as random as I can make it. I even named it Random Love.

I'm using a combo of sport (Heela Cotton), DK (Elann Sonata) and worsted (Peaches & Creme and Sugar'n Cream) cottons with Single, Half Double and Double stitches and a size G (4.25 mm) hook. It's a wonderful project, choosing which color and which stitch and enjoying the random changes.

Oh and yes, I did take the picture of the back side. But it doesn't look too bad, does it?
